Grants SA have today opened a new funding opportunity - 2024-25 Grants SA Social Impact Round One.
This Grants SA round aims to support strong and inclusive communities, and advance social and emotional wellbeing.
This round varies from previous Social Impact Rounds by including two tiers of funding.
A two-tier funding round will provide community organisations with the opportunity to apply for projects over $10,000 that have not met the criteria of recent planned themed rounds (Grants SA’s Addressing Food Security and Strengthening Inclusive Pathways to Employment rounds).
The level of funding available and the focus of the funding differs between the two tiers:
Tier 1 up to $10,000
- To purchase equipment and resources, conduct community participation or inclusion activities and to improve or develop spaces for community participation.
- Examples; catering equipment, furniture, air-conditioning, resources to host a community event or resources for a new community group or activity, IT equipment, sound systems, digital skills volunteer training.
Tier 2 up to $30,000
- For community development projects or short-term programs (up to 12 months), projects to improve access and inclusion and minor infrastructure upgrades.
- Examples; delivery of a new program, or improve or expand an existing program; engage another organisation to deliver a community, program, service or initiative. Disability access upgrades, devices for inclusion (e.g. to enhance sound, tactile guides for people with reduced vision), counselling rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and shade structures.
Organisations can submit more than one application in the Social Impact Round One, but can only be successful for one.
Notification of the outcomes of all funding applications will take a minimum of 8 weeks after the closing date of the round.
Organisations who can apply for this funding include not-for-profit community organisations, Aboriginal community-controlled organisations, and Social Traders-certified social enterprises.

Applications for this round close on 12 September 2024, 3 pm.
