I anticipate formal review of our petition of 10,688 signatures calling for improved local health services that I lodged in the House of Assembly last November will now finally commence after my Motion to have it referred for investigation to Parliament’s Economic and Finance Committee successfully passed last month.
Supported by multiple MPs, the requests petitioned for will now broadly frame the terms of reference for the official inquiry, which will include a public submission process that I expect will very soon open.
There may also be opportunity for community members to attend a hearing as part of the Inquiry into our health services and systems; I fervently hope whatever input is sought that as many community members can participate by lodging a written submission to give the best chance of the changes we seek coming to fruition.
I will ensure details of how to participate in this vital process are publicised as soon as the formal Inquiry is launched.

Roads
Pleasingly, major works are continuing on the Kulpara to Arthurton road and the Bute to Port Broughton road, and soon to start are more pavement rehab works entering Wallaroo (from Kadina) at Magazine Road and Sharples Road between Spencer Hwy and Harbison Rd.
There are also speed restrictions in place at the intersection of St Vincent Highway and Yorke Highway as part of the stage one detour of Pine Point Road that is required as preparation for the Rex Hillside mine project.
