October in the chamber has been very busy and looks set to continue this week as there are now only two more sitting weeks left until the end of the year.
In the last month, I have been pleased to contribute to legislative debate, grieves and Question Time on a diverse array of topics – among them climate targets, the roll out of the ban on single use plastics, emergency department upgrades, local events, road upgrades and maintenance, tourism needs, lifeblood services, impacts of beach camping, retirement villages, waste levy subsidies for charitable organisations, unpaid COVID-19 quarantine Medi-hotel invoices, and water infrastructure shortfalls in our electorate.
All that I do relies on the input and feedback I receive from constituents and community groups and leaders, and I thank all who contact me and who work with me to ultimately, improve the way of life for us all here in our patch of the world.
Legislation under current debate, or soon to be, offer topics as varied as ever – from Return-to-Work employment law, offenders’ registration, transplants and anatomy, and passenger transport, to native vegetation, dog and cat management, early childhood development and political donations law reform.
Anyone wishing to share any feedback or experience on any aspect of state law and regulations that impact our lives are always welcome to contact my office. Your input is vital guidance on how I vote on bills and motions before the House on behalf of our community.
