New round of Sport and Rec The Power of Her

Eligible organisations can now apply for their share in a record $9.1 million of funding through The Power of Her - Infrastructure and Participation Program (IPP), dedicated to sporting facilities, improvements and projects that grow female participation.

The State Government introduced this grant program on the back of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and to carry on the success of the Matildas.

$18 million has been committed to deliver the IPP over three years, with $10 million quarantined for football (soccer), including $6.1 million for this year's round. 

Projects funded in previous rounds include unisex change rooms, improved lighting and playing surfaces, new uniforms and equipment, coaching initiatives and more. 

The aim is to remove barriers to participation and create more inclusive, welcoming environments. 

Applications close midday on Friday 15 August.
