Regional Hearing in Balaklava for CFS powers inquiry

It has been announced today that one of three public hearings as part of the Parliamentary Select Committee on the Fire and Emergency Services (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill is to be held in the region - at Balaklava on Thursday 7 February. 

Chairman of the Select Committee that is specifically addressing the proposed CFS powers is fellow regional Liberal MP, Member for Flinders Peter Treloar.

Mr Treloar said he looks forward to discussing the proposed CFS powers with a range of groups and primary producers and emergency services officers.

Member for Narungga Fraser Ellis MP encourages as many local farmers and CFS officers with views on this important legislation to participate in this public hearing, that will be held on Thursday 7 February 2019, from 10.30 am to 3 pm, in the Phil Barry Chamber, Wakefield Regional Council, Scotland Place, Balaklava. 

Other hearings will be in Port Lincoln (31 January) and in Adelaide (4 February). 

"The committee is eager to hear your views on this important legislation, and your voice will help to inform the Committee's recommendations to the South Australian Government," Mr Ellis said. "I hope many locals will participate."
