Round 22 of the Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) Small and Vital stream is now open, offering grants of up to $10,000 for a broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit small communities (preference given for projects in towns with populations under 15,000).
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and assessed quarterly.
Round 22 closes on 5 September with Round 23 opening next day, 6 September.
This is a very popular program, with a record 450 applications received last round.
Among successful projects were museum improvements, assistance to run festivals/events, new workspaces and equipment for community groups, outdoor play facilities, mowing equipment, fencing and landscaping works, emergency food relief programs, dance lessons, and community kitchen, airconditioning and pool upgrades.
