The State Government has today opened a new round of the Enabling Infrastructure Program, with a further $5 million available for grants of between $50,000 and $1 million for projects that strengthen regional communities.
Part of the $15 million Thriving Regions Fund, this program is aimed at building strong regional communities through supporting infrastructure projects that improve quality of life or attract and retain people and business in our regions.
The first round of the Enabling Infrastructure Grants Program saw 8 significant projects across South Australia’s regions offered grants between $230,000 and $1 million.
Eligible applicants, including local government authorities, statutory authorities, charities, businesses, and co-operatives, can submit expressions of interest (EOI) for significant projects that meet the needs of their region (to be received by noon, 22nd August).
These expressions of interest submissions are then assessed for selection through to stage two, with successful applicants invited to lodge more detailed project applications for review.
Round 1 grant offers totalled $5.07 million for projects that ranged from worker accommodation supporting critical seasonal roles, childcare facilities, health, and education centres as well as community and sports facilities.
