I encourage participation and/or attendance at this week’s two local public hearings scheduled by Parliament as a result of our health petition signed by over 11,000 people calling for reform and improvements to the delivery of health services on Yorke Peninsula.
The first public hearing is at Yorketown Town Hall this Thursday 27 March, noon to 3.30 pm and the second one is at Wallaroo Town Hall on Friday, 28 March, 9.30 am- noon.
The Parliamentary committee has already received, commendably, in the vicinity of 80 written submissions by concerned locals and stakeholders to the underway investigation.
The two above public hearings provide additional vital opportunity for oral submissions to be presented directly to the committee members charged with making recommendations to Government.
If you have already written a submission, please also consider making an oral presentation to ram home your call for improvements.
If you weren’t confident in writing a submission and are better at speaking on a topic, please contact my office or the committee (8237 9442; email [email protected] ) to register your interest in giving an oral presentation at either Yorketown or Wallaroo.
This is our time to speak up!
I additionally advise that anyone interested in attending at either the Yorketown Town Hall or the Wallaroo Town Hall to just listen into proceedings can do so.
There is no need to RSVP or register to do this; only individuals, organisations or community groups wishing to address the committee and present an oral submission are required to contact the committee prior to attendance.
This is an exciting opportunity for the Narungga electorate, and I hope many people can show their concern and support by speaking at, or attending, one or both of the scheduled hearings.
Thank you all who have contributed to the petition and subsequent Inquiry so far – you are making a difference!
