Sport and Rec - Sector Success Program

21 Oct 2025

The Office for Recreation Sport and Racing has opened the 2025-26 Sector Success Program, designed to increase involvement of people in sport and active recreation activities so they can experience the many physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing benefits that participation brings.

There is a particular focus this round on addressing the critical challenges and opportunities surrounding volunteering and workforce development.

Funding is available through two streams:

  • Targeted Stream (Workforce and Volunteers) - dedicated to building sector capability by strengthening the paid and volunteer workforce
  • Open Stream - supporting projects that promote inclusion, increase participation and ensure a safe environment

Applicants may request up to $250,000 per project and up to two years of funding.

Eligible to apply are not-for-profit, incorporated organisations and sporting clubs that have been operating for 12 months or longer, and local councils.

Infrastructure projects, including facility planning and design, are not eligible projects.

There are two online information sessions planned to offer assistance to sporting groups and clubs interested in applying to the program - one on Tuesday 28 October (10.30am-11.30am) and another on Thursday 30 October (5.30pm-6.30pm).

Applications close midday, Friday 28 November 2025.
