Ellis to host Cost of Living community forums - Wallaroo and Minlaton

Member for Narungga Fraser Ellis MP is to host two community forums next month to provide timely advice on available government concessions and assistance to help households combat rising costs of living.

“With so many individuals and families dealing with very stretched household budgets due to rising food costs, power bills and high rents and interest rates, I felt arranging a couple of local information sessions may be valuable and well received”, Mr Ellis said.

“There will be two forums held, both on Thursday 7 September, with one in the morning at Wallaroo and another at Minlaton in the afternoon. Topics discussed will include available government concessions and subsidies, how to understand and reduce power bills, and budgeting advice.

“People are rightfully very concerned about rising power bills so I am expecting especially high interest in this topic, and I also want to ensure people are aware of what assistance is available from government and agencies”.  

Guest speakers will include representatives from the Department of Human Services, the Department of Energy and Mining, and Uniting Country SA.
