Five local clubs have been announced successful applicants in the latest funding round from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing's Community Recreation and Sport Facilities Program.
They are:
- Snowtown Tennis Club Incorporated: To resurface four multi-use courts and install fencing at Snowtown Tennis Club, Snowtown $159,000
- Wallaroo Golf Club Incorporated: To replace 18 black slag putting surfaces with turf and to install a turf practice putting green and walking trails $65,000
- Bute Golf Club Incorporated: To install synthetic turf tee boxes, edged with concrete sleepers at Bute Golf Club, Bute - $14,500
- Maitland Pistol and Shooting Club Incorporated: To construct an access ramp at Maitland Pistol and Shooting Club, Maitland $14,800
- Yorketown Sporting Club Incorporated: To upgrade eight existing light towers to LED lights at Yorketown Sporting Club, Yorketown $12,700
There were 44 projects approved, 25 requesting less than $50,000 and 19 seeking between $50,000 and $500,000.
Of the successful applicants, more than 45% ($2.5 million) of the funding from this round is going to 20 regional recipients, the remaining allocated to 16 projects within metropolitan Adelaide and eight in the greater metropolitan planning area that includes the Barossa, Murray Bridge and Fleurieu Peninsula.
