Night works to commence at Port Wakefield overpass project

12 Oct 2021

The Department of Infrastructure and Transport advises night works will commence this Friday, 15 October, as part of the ongoing construction of the $124.5 million Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication Project.

The night works will be undertaken over approximately two months, from just north of the new overpass to just south of Minnie Street.

The works will be undertaken intermittently, Sunday to Friday, between 6 pm and 7 am, and will involve barrier relocation, median removal and installation, pavement construction, service location, line marking and drainage installation.

To safely undertake these works there may be some lane restrictions in place, with traffic controllers on site to assist.

Signage will be in place to alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.

Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained during these works with advance notice provided if there is a need to temporarily restrict driveway access.

The work will be managed to minimise noise and disturbance to nearby residents and businesses as much as practically possible.

Existing pedestrian detours will remain in place via footpaths on the western side of Port Wakefield Highway.
