Funding of $2.8 million is available through the first round of The Power of Her - Infrastructure and Participation Program (IPP), dedicated to female sporting facilities, improvements, programs and projects that grow female participation.
The State Government has committed $18 million over the next three years to help empower SA girls and women to pursue the sport they love.
This grant program was announced amid the success of the Commbank Matildas at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, and the funding round opens as the Matildas confirm they will play the Adelaide Oval for the first time in May.
In the 2023-24 round, $2.8 million will be allocated, via two streams: Infrastructure Stream ($2.5m) and a Program and Equipment Stream ($300,000).
Of the Infrastructure Stream, $1.8 million is quarantined for football (Soccer), with $700,000 available for other sports.
Of the Program and Equipment Stream, $200,000 is quarantined for football (Soccer) and $100,000 for other sports.
Applicants require a minimum 50% co-contribution.
Applications opened 5 March 2024 and will close midday 3 April 2024.
