Thriving Regions Fund opens today

12 Jan 2023

The State Government has today opened the "Thriving Communities Program", a new grants program funded via its Thriving Regions Fund dedicated to supporting and strengthening regional communities.

On offer from the Thriving Communities Program are grants in the range of $20,000 to $50,000, for community groups and non-profit organisations in regional communities seeking funding for projects deemed to improve quality of life and bring strengthened regional economies.

Successful projects need to be completed within 12 months, demonstrate support from the wider community, and not require any ongoing, recurrent State Government funding. They additionally must be located within South Australia and benefit regional South Australia.

Project finance co-contributions are desirable, but not essential.

The program is limited to registered charities or community groups that are incorporated associations (with ABN/GST registration) such as community clubs, Ag Bureaux, Show Societies, Chambers of Commerce, Industry or interest groups.

Companies, Partnerships, Sole Traders, Co-operatives, Regional Development Associations and State Government agencies are not eligible to apply.

Projects can include physical infrastructure, plant and equipment, events to enhance community wellbeing and engagement, or community training initiatives such as First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, Child Safe, cultural awareness and inclusion.

Applications close when the $600,000 dedicated to the program is fully allocated, or at 5pm on 30 June 2023, whichever occurs first.
